End of 2013, New Patterns

It's been a long 2013. After a cross-country move from Ohio back to our hometown in North Carolina in November 2012 ~after a year recovering from a variety of health issues, it's now December 2013 and we're finally back up and manufacturing beads again! Some of our old products evolved into new products, and we also started creating finished necklaces most of which we donated to Charity Auctions and introduced some to the public on a small a local scale at boutiques, salons, and local craft fairs to 'test the waters'.  We were able to raise several hundred dollars to local Charities.  These necklace/earring sets went to two lucky women that attended the Henderson County Boys & Girls Club Women's Luncheon in September:

AAA Grade Akoya Pearl and Washi Bead Twist Necklace with Swarovski Crystal bicones and Sterling Silver Beads
Elegant AAA Grade Akoya Pearl Earrings on Sterling Silver Wires and Stainless Surgical Steel Ear Wires to match the Washi Bead/Akoya Pearl Necklaces

We also created a new yet simple style of Glass Pendants with a silver bail and pearlized iridescent finish on the reverse which were hung on 316 Low Carbon Stainless Steel Snake Chains- they, and our Large-holed silver grommeted Washi Beads and Bronze Style Washi Necklaces, were our most popular items at the Holiday Happening Craft Fair in September as well:

We've also updated our Washi Patterns and we hope to add more in 2014.  Here are some of the new patterns (If you need the entire list of patterns please feel free to contact us with your email address for the PDF file of Available Patterns):

Thanks so much for visiting and be sure to visit us again to keep up on new developments in 2014!  Until next time, Happy Beading and we hope everyone has a wonderful 2013 Holiday Season!

New Large-holed Washi Beads

Introducing large-holed Washi Beads made exclusively by Sheri Marker, Embassybeads to add on to your customizeable Pandora/Biagi/Troll necklaces and bracelets.  The hole size is 4.8mm and should be able to fit these popular styles.  They are completely handcrafted: Bead holes are hand-drilled to the proper dimensions, the sterling silver and stainless steel inserts are flared by hand, the washi paper is applied by hand using the traditional picket-fence method requiring at least 30 miniscule cuts in order to fit onto the bead without distorting the beautiful Japanese Washi patterns, each bead is burnished by hand to smooth out and blend the cuts, and the 8 coats of water-based polyurethane finish are applied by hand with paint brush to protect the bead for heavy wear.

Here are the first 4 patterns available, many more to come in 2012.  Enjoy and keep an eye out on Ebay (ID: Embassydesigns) for these beautiful beads!  Prices are 3 beads for $15 on Ebay!  We aim to keep high quality handcrafted artisan beads affordable for everyone!

Temporary Closure to New Orders, August/September

Embassybeads will be temporarily closed to taking new orders for all of August and most of September while we complete our current backorder list, prepare for our various upcoming Autumn Craft Fairs and Bead Show engagements, and also allow the owner time to complete and recover from five more weeks of Rituxan/Chlorambucil chemo treatments.  If you have already placed your order earlier in the summer, your order is in our backorder list and will be attended to during these two months.  Although we hate to temporarily rein back new sales, we are currently maxed out in terms of our manufacturing ability based on labor time and manufacturing space.  We will recommence taking on new orders the end of September on a limited basis dependent on the owner's rate of recovery and rate of completion of our large backorders.

Thank-you for all your business and reorders... most of all, thanks for helping our business grow by leaps and bounds!  Hope to see you all at the Fall fairs and boutiques this year, and we hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer.  Stay cool and stay safe!

Happy Beading Everybody!
